The Mumbai University Dept. of Information Technology conducting B.Sc.(IT) three year degree course i.e.
F.Y.B.Sc.(IT), S.Y.B.Sc.(IT) and T.Y.B.Sc.(IT).

This is a full time course. The duration of the course is six semesters spread over three years.

The course shall consists of 29 papers total in six semesters & project work in the sixth semester. Each paper will be of 100 marks Theory and 50 marks Practical/Termwork. Project will be evaluated for a total of 200 marks.

First Year : First Semester (Five Papers)

  2. Mathematics I.
  3. Introduction to Digital electronics.
  4. Digital Computer Fundamentals.
  5. Introduction to Programming.

First Year : Second Semester (Five Papers)
  1. Mathematics II.
  2. Design and analysis of algorithms.
  3. Tele Communication systems.
  4. Professional Skill Development course.
  5. Computer Graphics.

Second Year : Third Semester (Five Papers)
  1. Computational Mathematics.
  2. Systems Programming.
  3. Object Oriented Programming.
  4. Computer Networks.
  5. Logic, Discrete Mathematical Structures.

Second Year : Fourth Semester (Five Papers)
  1. Data base concepts and Systems.
  2. Operating Systems.
  3. C++ and Java.
  4. E-Commerce.
  5. SW Engineering.

Third Year : Fifth Semester
(Three Compulsory and Two Electives Papers)
  1. Internet Security.
  2. Visual Basic 6.
  3. SQL 2.

Eligiblity :

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the degree course of Bachelor of Science ? Information Technology , shall have passed XII Standard Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its Equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in aggregate in case of Reserved category , at one and the same sitting.
OR
Candidates who have passed Diploma in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/ Computer Technology / Information Technology / Electrical, Electronic and Allied Branches, Mechanical and Allied Branches, Civil and Allied Branches of Engineering after S.S.C. (Xth) are Eligible for admission to direct admission to the Second Year of the B.Sc.(IT) degree course. However, the Diploma should be recongised by the board of Technical Education or any other recognized Government body. Minimum Marks required 45% aggregate for Open category candidates and 40% aggregate for Reserved category candidates.
AND
Students with post H.S.C. ? Diploma in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Technology / Information Technology and allied branches will be eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of B.Sc. (IT). However, the Diploma should be recognized by the Board of Technical Education or any other recognized Government body.

The seats granted to each of the affiliated colleges offering this course will be filled on the basis of merit. The admission to the course will be made by the respective colleges offering the course, as per the admission procedure laid down by the University of Mumbai. The reservation of seats shall be as per the State Government / University rules.
